Leaf Base: Attenuate

Attenuate Leaf Base

Definition: Leaf tissue tapers down the petiole (toward the base) to a narrow base always having some fleshy leaf on either side of the petiole.

Description: A few of the leaves that show an attenuate leaf base may also be called cuneate Use the terms in combination if appropriate.
